Radiotherapy

Radiation Physics supports radiotherapy provided by Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals to a population of around 1.2 million living in East Yorkshire, northern Lincolnshire and parts of North Yorkshire.

6 Varian Linacs (all with portal MV imaging, two with kV imaging) Nucletron Flexitron-HDR unit Gulmay Superficial X-Ray (SXR) Unit 2 Big Bore Philips Brilliance 16-slice CT Scanners Acuity Simulator CMS treatment planning system (XiO and Monaco) State of the Art Treatments Intensity modultated radiotherapy treatment (IMRT) treatments (January 2002) 3D Image Guided Brachytherapy (IGBT) using MRI & CT (June 2009)

Medical Physics Experts (MPE)

The MPE's under regulation 9 of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 for radiotherapeutic practices other than standardised therapeutic nuclear medicine practices for Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals are
